PYC Hindu Gymkhana Hosts Youth Cricket Extravaganza in Raju Bhalekar Trophy

Cricket enthusiasts in Pune are in for a treat as the fifth edition of the “PYC Goldfield Late Raju Bhalekar Trophy” Under-19 Two Day Cricket Tournament kicks off. Organized by the PYC Hindu Gymkhana, this event features 12 teams ready to showcase their skills on the pitch.

A Platform for Rising Stars

The PYC-Goldfield Late Raju Bhalekar Trophy provides a valuable platform for emerging cricket talents in Pune. Youngsters from the region have a chance to demonstrate their prowess, learn from the experience, and compete in the spirit of the game.

The Participating Teams

A dozen teams have been invited to participate, including host PYC Hindu Gymkhana, Varroc Vengsarkar Cricket Academy, Poona Club, Deccan Gymkhana, Cadence, Parsi Gymkhana, Club of Maharashtra, MCA A, MCA B, Vilas CC, Stars CC, and Ambitious or United Sports Club. Their presence promises fierce competition and thrilling matches.

The Royal Goldfield Club Resorts Ltd has graciously sponsored this event for the fifth consecutive year. Mr. Anil Chajjed and Mr. TN Sundar of Royal Goldfield Club Resorts Ltd, Dapoli, have highlighted their commitment to providing world-class sports infrastructure and nurturing young talent through sports camps, training academies, and professional coaching.

Tournament Format

The matches will be played on a League cum Knock Out basis, with the 12 teams divided into three groups of four teams each. They will compete in the league stage, with the top team from each group and one team from the remaining nine teams advancing to the semifinals. Points and net run rate will determine qualification.

All matches will adhere to BCCI/MCA playing conditions, featuring 90 overs per side and a two-day duration. The opening and final matches will be held at PYC Hindu Gymkhana cricket ground.

Prizes and Recognition

In addition to the prestigious Late. Shri. Raju Bhalekar Trophy for the winning and runner-up teams, individual players will have the opportunity to earn recognition. Prizes await the Best Batsman, Best Bowler, Best Wicketkeeper, Best Fielder, and the Man of the Series.
