Happy Streets Spreads Joy and Community Spirit in Wanowrie

In a vibrant display of community engagement, Wanowrie came alive on Sunday as residents of all age groups gathered to participate in the Happy Streets event. From lively dance sessions to rhythmic beats on musical instruments, and the tranquility of yoga and breathing exercises, the stretch of road between Sacred World Mall and Samvidhan Chowk echoed with joy and laughter from 6.30 am to 9.30 am.

Happy Streets, an initiative by The Times of India and Maharashtra Times in collaboration with Pune Municipal Corporation, and sponsored by Kolte Patil Developers, provided an avenue for people to enjoy various activities with friends and family without any cost.

Participants expressed their enthusiasm for the event. Shaheen Shaikh, a resident of Fatimanagar, shared her excitement, saying, “This was the first time I went to Happy Streets, and it was an amazing experience. My five-year-old son played and enjoyed a lot. I am looking forward to its next chapter.”

Six-year-old Shailesh Kelkar from NIBM Road outlined his plan for the day, saying, “I plan to play table tennis and then go dance with the crowd, ride a bicycle, and then play some football.”

A group of women took advantage of the stalls offering yoga and breathing exercises. Yamini Moge from Salunke Vihar Road highlighted the community-building aspect of such events, stating, “Such events bring the community together and nurture a sense of bonding. They also teach us new things. I talked to the instructors and got so much information about the advantages of healthy and correct breathing. I plan to start what I learned immediately at home.”
