Half of month’s average rainfall in Pune district in first 10 days; Pune gets the highest – 201 mm

Pune: The city and district has received half of the month’s average rainfall in the first 10 days of the season. A rainfall of 88.90 mm has been recorded till June 10 in the district. Pune has received the highest rainfall of 201.60 in the district.

The average rainfall in June for the city and district is 176.20 mm. The district received 88.90 mm rainfall, which is 50.50% of the month’s average. The District Administration registers daily rainfall from June 1 every year. Thus, rainfall is measured taluka- and month-wise. It then releases data of total average rainfall, the actual rainfall while the comparison is recorded in percentage points.

The highest rainfall in the rural areas of the district was recorded in Indapur taluka at 150.30 mm while Junnar taluka received the lowest of 27 mm.

In the current season, rainfall was not recorded till June 4 anywhere in the district. Showers started from June 5 and half of the average rainfall was recorded within five days only. This was revealed by the District Administration on Monday (June 10).
