Online Gambling

In a distressing turn of events, a shopkeeper in Wadgaon Sheri, Pune, has fallen victim to an online shopping scam. The shopkeeper, a woman, has filed a complaint with the local police against an individual who allegedly sold her torn clothes after promising discounted rates through online shopping.

The ordeal began when the woman came into contact with the accused online. The accused posed as a middleman connected to clothing manufacturers and offered the shopkeeper an enticing deal to purchase clothes at a reduced price.

Trusting the deal, the woman made an online payment of Rs 2.97 lakh to the accused after their agreement was finalized. However, her excitement turned into shock when the order arrived, and she received clothes that were torn and unusable. This unfortunate incident transpired between the months of July and October the previous year.

Despite her disappointment, the shopkeeper woman maintained contact with the accused, who continuously assured her of refunds for the damaged goods. However, as time passed, the accused ceased responding to her inquiries, leaving her with no choice but to seek legal intervention.

Subsequently, the woman approached the Chandannagar Police Station and filed a formal complaint against the individual responsible for the fraudulent online transaction. A case has been registered under the relevant sections of the law, and the police have initiated an investigation to bring the perpetrator to justice.
