Empowering Media Collaboration: Air Force Station Pune’s Orientation Course

In an endeavor to strengthen collaboration and foster mutual understanding, Air Force Station Lohegaon, under the South Western Air Command of the Indian Air Force (IAF), recently conducted a Media Orientation Capsule for Pune’s media personnel. This course aimed to enhance media outreach, build relationships, and strengthen communication.

A Day of Learning and Collaboration:

The event was a collaborative effort with the Regional Defence Public Relations Officer (PRO) and witnessed active participation from journalists representing various print and electronic media outlets.

The program commenced with a clear outline of its objectives by the Station PRO, establishing the purpose of this media orientation capsule.

The Air Commodore urged the media to serve as a force multiplier in projecting the relentless efforts of the Armed Forces across various dimensions of nation-building. He highlighted the need for a collaborative approach to ensure accurate and timely information sharing with the public.

Detailed presentations covered various facets of the IAF, including Air Operations, Air Defence Operations, Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief. The organizational framework of the Air Force was also elucidated, providing media personnel with comprehensive insights.

The capsule course offered media personnel a peek into basic flying aspects, the functioning of flying simulators, and a comprehensive flying brief. They witnessed flying operations by fighter aircraft and explored a static display.
