Fire Engulfs 11-Storey Building Near DPS in Pune’s Mohammadi Area

Pune, February 6, 2024 – A massive fire broke out on Tuesday within an 11-storey residential complex in the Mohammadi district of Pune, creating a tense situation for residents and emergency responders. The Pune Fire Department swiftly mobilized five fire tenders to the scene to combat the blaze and prevent its spread to other parts of the building.

The fire erupted within one of the apartments, prompting immediate action from authorities to ensure the safety of the residents. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and firefighters are working diligently to bring the situation under control.

“The Pune Fire Department is on high alert, and five fire tenders are currently on the spot to control the blaze. Our priority is to ensure the safety of residents and prevent the fire from spreading further,” stated a spokesperson from the Pune Fire Department.

In a parallel incident earlier on Tuesday, a significant fire broke out in the Grant Road area of Mumbai. The fire, reported on street number 3 in Kamathipur, originated on the second floor of a building. Mumbai fire crews are also on the scene working to extinguish the flames and assess the extent of the damage.

Both incidents highlight the crucial role played by fire departments in responding promptly to emergencies, emphasizing the importance of fire safety measures in residential complexes.
