In a decisive move, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) Pune has issued a stern appeal to address the issue of illegal encroachments and unauthorized constructions along the Kasurdi to Kavadipat stretch on the Pune-Solapur National Highway. The directive emphasizes the need for the removal of these encroachments within the next seven days to facilitate the planned expansion of the highway.
NHAI Pune has observed that property holders in the vicinity have unlawfully encroached upon sections of the Pune-Solapur National Highway, impeding the scheduled development of the roadway. As a corrective measure, the authority mandates the clearance of encroachments within 15 meters from the center of the road on both sides, with the associated expenses to be borne by the property owners.
Failure to comply within the specified timeframe will result in eviction by NHAI under the provisions of the National Highways Control (Land and Transport) Act of 2002. Project Director Sanjay Kadam has communicated that the costs and penalties incurred during this process will be recovered from the respective property holders.
