Eid al-Adha Prayers Prompt Temporary Traffic Changes Near Golibar Maidan

In anticipation of the Eid al-Adha (Bakri Eid) celebrations, temporary traffic changes will be implemented near Golibar Maidan in Pune starting at 6 AM tomorrow. This is to accommodate the public Namaz prayers arranged at the maidan. Traffic near Golibar Maidan Chowk, Mamma Devi Chowk, and Dhole Patil Chowk (Seven Loves Chowk) will be redirected to alternate routes. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Rohidas Pawar has announced these changes to prevent congestion and ensure the smooth proceeding of the Namaz prayers.

Traffic Changes and Alternate Routes

  1. Route from Golibar Chowk to Swargate:
    • Closure: This route will be closed until the Namaz prayers conclude.
    • Alternate Route: Take a left from Golibar Chowk towards CDO Chowk, turn right towards Giridhar Bhavan Chowk, turn right towards Seven Loves Chowk, and proceed to your destination.
  2. Route from CDO Chowk to Golibar Chowk:
    • Closure: This route will be closed until the Namaz prayers conclude.
    • Alternate Route: Vehicles from Kondhwa and Lulla Nagar should go via Khatav Bungalow Chowk, Napier Road, and Mamma Devi Chowk, or via Wanowrie Bazar and Bhairoba Nala Chowk to reach their destination.
  3. Route from Seven Loves Chowk to Golibar Maidan:
    • Closure: This route will be closed until the Namaz prayers conclude.
    • Alternate Route: Vehicles should go via Salisbury Park, CDO Chowk, and Bhairoba Nala Chowk to reach their destination.
  4. Route from Solapur Road to Golibar Maidan:
    • Changes: Traffic adjustments will be in place.
    • Alternate Route: Vehicles should go via Mamma Devi Chowk, Bishop School, or Napier Road and CDO Chowk to reach their destination.
  5. Heavy Vehicle Traffic:
    • Diversion: All heavy vehicles, including goods and passenger vehicles and state transport buses coming from Kondhwa to Golibar Maidan, will be rerouted via Gangadham Chowk from the morning hours until the Namaz prayers conclude.

Duration and Additional Notes

The Namaz prayers are expected to take place from 7 AM to 10 AM, though they may extend beyond this time. Additional Namaz sessions may occur on other grounds, and further changes will be implemented as necessary to accommodate these events.
