Lonavala, 26th June 2023: The railway authorities have recently announced the cancellation of two local trains departing from Pune and Lonavala during the afternoon session between June 26 and June 29. This inconvenience is a result of an ongoing engineering block at Lonavala railway station.
During this period, commuters will face disruption in their travel plans. The 2.50 p.m. and 3.30 p.m. local trains originating from Lonavala station have been cancelled, while local trains departing from Pune station at 9.57 a.m. and 11.17 a.m. have also been affected. This engineering block is necessary for maintenance and improvement work on the railway tracks, ensuring the safety and efficiency of train operations in the long run.
Iqbal Mulani, the President of the Railway Passengers Association, expressed concern over the inconvenience caused by the cancellation of these afternoon trains. He emphasized that this disruption would impact various individuals, including citizens, school-going children, and the working class, who heavily rely on these train services during the afternoon hours.
