In an unexpected turn of events, commuters traveling between Pune and Lonavala found themselves in distress as technical issues led to the cancellation of two critical local trains. The disruption occurred between Malavali and Lonavala stations, affecting the regular schedules of both daily commuters and occasional travelers.
The canceled trains, specifically 01561 from Lonavala at 14:50 and 015664 from Pune at 11:17, left passengers stranded and frustrated. According to the Pune Division DRM (Divisional Railway Manager), the disruption was a result of ongoing improvements on the Sangli-Miraj line, impacting a total of 34 trains. Commuters were advised to stay vigilant for announcements regarding brief delays and cancellations.
Railway authorities assured passengers that they are actively working to address the technical issues and restore regular train services promptly. The unforeseen congestion and subsequent cancellations prompted railway workers to perform urgent repairs to alleviate the blockage in the line.
