Community’s Cry for Peace: Wadgaon Sheri Residents Seek Relief from Noise Pollution

Residents of Wadgaon Sheri, situated near the D-Mart road, have voiced their growing concern and frustration over a persistent issue that has significantly impacted their quality of life. The problem at hand is the unceasing noise pollution originating from Cybage Company, which has become an ongoing source of annoyance and discomfort for the community.

Noise Pollution Woes: A Community’s Cry for Relief

The residents allege that Cybage Company consistently plays loud music during their events, despite repeated pleas from the local community to lower the volume. Unfortunately, these appeals have fallen on deaf ears, subjecting residents to a continuous state of disruption. This noise pollution has not only disrupted the tranquility of the neighborhood but has also taken a toll on the physical and mental well-being of those who call this area home.

The residents of Wadgaon Sheri have identified several distressing consequences resulting from Cybage Company’s noise pollution, including sleep disturbances, potential health issues like stress, anxiety, and hearing damage, and difficulties in focusing on daily activities, work, and studies. The noise pollution has significantly diminished the overall quality of life for residents, leading to heightened stress and discomfort, with senior citizens and migraine patients suffering particularly.

Residents Express Frustration and Demand Action

Aaditya Patil, a resident, expressed frustration, stating, “The company is located in a residential area, and around 1000 residents surrounding Cybage premises are troubled by them. We have raised this issue with the police multiple times, but no definite action has been taken yet.”

Yasmin, another resident, added, “The company claims to care about the residents as they are situated in a residential area, but they forget our existence during their events. They lower the volume when we reach out to complain but increase it as soon as we leave. We faced the same issue last year, and they promised not to repeat it. Nevertheless, we are here again. We urge the authorities to take strict action now.”

Community Activists and Authorities Respond

Monica Sharma, an Activist from Team Swachh Kalyani Nagar (TSKN), has highlighted the company’s repeated violations and the devastating impact on patients and senior citizens. She stressed the need for immediate action to prioritize the community’s well-being and peace over corporate convenience.

Balkrishna Kadam, the Police in charge at Yerwada Police Station, stated, “We permitted them just as we do for others. We have received complaints and warned them to reduce the sound decibel levels and turn off the music within the specified time limit. We hope they will comply.”

Pratap Jagtap from the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) explained, “If the situation escalates beyond control, the police can observe and report it to MPCB, and only then can we initiate prosecution.”

Seeking Public Attention for Relief

The residents are urgently seeking assistance and public attention to address this issue. They believe that unbiased reporting can play a pivotal role in raising awareness about the problem and, hopefully, lead to a resolution. The residents of Wadgaon Sheri eagerly await a resolution to this pressing issue, and they hope that their concerns will be addressed promptly.
