Call for Feeder Buses to Metro Stations Echoes Among Bavdhan Residents

Pune, August 22nd, 2023: The introduction of eight new feeder bus services by the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML) has sparked enthusiasm among Bavdhan residents, who are now eagerly inquiring about service timings and stops. These feeder bus services aim to provide seamless connectivity between various metro stations and key localities, offering a convenient and efficient mode of transportation for residents.

Among the newly established feeder bus routes, the Vanaz Metro Station to Anand Nagar, Shivaji Nagar Metro Station to Pune Station, Pune Station to Mundhwa Gaon, Hadapsar to Shivajinagar Civic Court Metro Station, Dange Chowk to Dange Chowk (Circle), and Bavdhan Gaon to Vanaz Metro Station routes hold particular significance for residents in terms of connectivity.

Shirish Patil, a Bavdhan resident, highlighted the challenges faced by commuters in accessing nearby metro stations. He mentioned, “Living in Bavdhan, Vanaz is the closest metro station. Auto rickshaw fares can be high for short distances, and availability can sometimes be an issue. Having a feeder bus service would greatly benefit office goers and students commuting to Kothrud Deccan, Pune Station, and the Shivaji Nagar area.”

Sanjay Gawade, a Feeder Bus Conductor, provided insights into the operational details of the feeder bus service. He explained, “The feeder bus service on the Bavdhan to Vanaz route commenced on August 10. The service operates from 8 am to noon and resumes from 3.20 pm to 7 pm. A recurring service has been scheduled at intervals of approximately 50 minutes to ensure frequent connectivity.”

The launch of the Metro Feeder Bus service by PMPML comes in conjunction with the inauguration of new Metro routes, recently introduced from Phugewadi to Civil Court stations and Garware College to Ruby Hall Clinic stations. These metro feeder services are designed to facilitate a seamless transition for residents between their localities and the newly inaugurated metro stations, enhancing the accessibility of public transportation.

The demand for feeder buses reflects the community’s enthusiasm for enhanced connectivity and efficient transit options. The introduction of these feeder services signifies a positive step towards optimizing the potential of Pune’s metro infrastructure and meeting the evolving transportation needs of its residents.
