Business woman & two others lose Rs 31 lakh to cyber thugs in Pune

Pune : It has been observed that there is a steady increase in the number of frauds committed by cyber thugs by luring the victims through online tasks in Pune. In the last few days, many complaints of such cases have been filed, now it has come to light that one business woman and two others have been cheated of Rs 31,30,000 by cyber thugs.

A business woman has filed a complaint in Faraskhana police station. The cyber thieves had sent messages to the complainant woman on social media. The message was to get likes on social media videos and earn good money. The cyber thugs had said that there is an opportunity to work from home.

The thugs just lured the woman into their net. Initially, the woman was given some amount. But after that, the thieves extorted Rs 17,81,000 from the woman time and time again. It has been also revealed that the thieves cheated a citizen of Karvenagar area to the tune of Rs 7,14,000. The victim has filed a complaint in Alankar police station.

In a similar manner, a young man from the Mangiri area was cheated. The cyber thugs extorted Rs 5,31,000 from the young man. The youth has filed a complaint in Hadapsar police station.

Pune police has appealed to the Punekars not to fall prey to cyber crime and if they report any cyber crime they should immediately inform the nearby police station.
