Pune Court slaps drivers who violate traffic rules, ‘arrest warrant’ against those who don’t appear for settlement

Pune Court

Pune : The Pune traffic police have filed a case against reckless drivers who violate traffic rules. The motorists who have been sued have been informed in time to appear before the court for the settlement of the case. However, arrest warrants have been issued against the vehicle drivers who did not appear in the court, informed Pune Traffic Police Inspector (Administration) A.G. Botre through a letter.

The traffic department under the Motor Vehicle Act 2020 did not appear before the court for settlement of cases after violation of traffic rules from 2020. Cases were filed against such vehicle owners in the Motor Vehicle Court Pune. The court had asked the concerned vehicle drivers to appear before the court. However, a large number of cases are pending in court where the vehicle owners have not settled with the traffic department or the court. Against this backdrop, the Motor Vehicle Court has issued arrest warrants against such vehicle owners. In the first phase, 732 warrants have been received by the transport department.

A vehicle owner who has been issued an impound warrant must attend the Motor Vehicle Court within eight days to settle the case. Otherwise, the vehicle owner will be arrested by the police department and produced in court. The Pune Traffic Police has appealed to the vehicle owners who did not appear in the court to settle or the police have warned that action will be taken against them.
