Breaking News: Rape Suspect Escapes from Pune Police Custody in Mundhwa

In a shocking turn of events, a rape accused managed to escape from police custody during an investigation in Pune. The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 pm on a Monday evening, sending law enforcement authorities into a frantic search for the fugitive.

The accused, identified as Pritam Chandulal Oswal, a 32-year-old resident of Devachi Uruli, had been apprehended by Hadapsar Police on August 31. Oswal was facing serious charges related to sexual assault, and the authorities were conducting an investigation into his alleged crimes.

The ill-fated escape took place while Oswal was being transported to the Magarpatta Police Chowky for further questioning. It was at this point that he managed to break free from his police escorts and made a daring getaway with the assistance of an unidentified individual.

According to police reports, the fugitive accused fled the scene in the company of his accomplice, who was waiting with a motorcycle. They sped away towards Mundhwa, leaving law enforcement officers bewildered and determined to bring Oswal to justice.

Pritam Chandulal Oswal had been taken into custody in connection with a case filed at the Hadapsar Police Station. The charges against him included multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), such as 376 (rape), 376(2) (repeat offenders of rape), 377 (unnatural offences), 354(a) (sexual harassment), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult), and 506(2) (criminal intimidation).
