As the anticipation mounts for the Lok Sabha elections counting day on June 4, the Pune district administration is leaving no stone unturned in its preparations. With the Pune and Baramati Lok Sabha constituencies up for counting, meticulous planning and organization are underway to ensure a seamless process.

Preparation Sites and Logistics

The counting venues have been strategically chosen to accommodate the electoral districts efficiently. The Food Corporation of India (FCI) godown at Koregaon Park will host the counting for Pune, while the Balewadi Sports Complex will oversee the Maval constituency’s tally. Additionally, the Ranjangaon Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) godown has been designated for Shirur constituency’s counting.

Deployment of Staff and Resources

A workforce of 1,704 personnel has been mobilized for the counting process across the designated locations. With 372 tables earmarked for the task, the administration aims for a systematic and expedited counting procedure. Resident Deputy Collector Jyoti Kadam has highlighted the extensive arrangements in place to facilitate a smooth operation.

Security Measures and Protocol

Ensuring the integrity and security of the counting process remains a top priority for the administration. Pune District Collector Suhas Diwase has overseen a comprehensive review of security protocols, emphasizing stringent measures to regulate access to the counting premises. Only authorized personnel, including employees, candidate representatives, and officials, will be allowed within a 100-meter radius of the counting area. Furthermore, strict regulations govern the possession of mobile phones, laptops, or wireless sets, with only authorized staff permitted to carry such devices.

Commitment to Transparency and Efficiency

The district administration’s dedication to transparency and efficiency underscores its commitment to upholding democratic principles. By implementing robust logistical arrangements, rigorous security protocols, and comprehensive training for counting staff, the administration aims to facilitate an accurate and expeditious counting process.

As the nation eagerly awaits the outcome of the Lok Sabha elections, the Pune administration’s preparedness stands as a testament to its unwavering commitment to democratic governance.
