Baner-Balewadi Residents Demand 50 More Traffic Wardens to Alleviate Traffic Woes in Pune

Baner, 27th June 2023: The demand for an effective solution to the chronic traffic congestion in the Baner-Balewadi area has reached a tipping point. Frustration among residents has been mounting as they continue to face persistent gridlock and delays in their daily commute.

Responding to the urgency of the situation, former corporator Amol Balwadkar met with Police Inspector Babasaheb Koli of the Chaturshrungi Traffic Division today. He discussed the traffic issues at key intersections such as Mamta Chowk, Radha Chowk, Ganapati Mandir Chowk, Balewadi Phata, Nanavare Chowk, Bitwise Chowk, Ganraj Chowk, and Kalamkar Chowk, particularly during peak hours between 8 AM to 12 PM and 5 PM to 9 PM.

During the meeting, a written statement was presented, highlighting the immediate need for an additional 50 traffic wardens to be deployed in the area. It was also proposed that the working hours of the traffic wardens be extended to cover all intersections within the vicinity, aiming to optimize the efficiency of the traffic management system.

Inspector Koli wasted no time in taking action, promptly reaching out to Mr. Rathi of the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) Metro to address the pressing issue. Rathi assured swift action in increasing the number of traffic wardens specifically designated for the Baner-Balewadi area.

The meeting was attended by Sundersheth Balavadkar and Pravin Balwadkar, who showed their support for the demand to alleviate the traffic woes in the region.
