Army Public School Clinches ‘General Championship’ at 16th Inter-school Sports Competition

Pune, Maharashtra – The Army Public School emerged victorious at the recently held Inter-school Sports (Running, Long Jump & Relay) Competition organized by the Maharashtriya Mandal. Not only did the school secure the highest number of medals, but it also claimed the coveted ‘General Championship’ at the 16th edition of the competition. The event, which took place on February 5th and 6th, 2024, witnessed the participation of 850 athletes from 52 schools, showcasing exceptional talent and sportsmanship.

The competition, now in its 12th year, featured young athletes under the age groups of 8, 10, and 12 engaging in events such as running, long jump, and relays. The meticulously organized event was hosted at the Athletics Track of Katariya High School, offering a platform for budding talents to showcase their athletic prowess.

A special mention goes to Cosmos Bank for its support towards making this year’s competition a success.

The formal inauguration witnessed the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Ajit Gijre, Director of Cosmos Bank, and key figures from the education sector. The prize distribution ceremony, held at the Agashe College Ground, celebrated the achievements of the young athletes.

Manaswi Kele, Director of Cosmos Bank, expressed her appreciation for the young talents and the dedication they displayed during the competition. The General Championship was clinched by the Army Public School, amassing an impressive 26 points on the scoreboard.

The winners were not only honored with medals and certificates but also received a total prize fund of Rs 1,00,000. The top three winning teams in each relay category were presented with mementos and certificates, adding to the pride of their achievements.

Amit Dange played the role of moderator for the competition, while Tejas Desurkar and Sachin Pardeshi extended their gratitude during the Vote of Thanks.
