Ajit Pawar Urges Accelerated Progress in Establishing ITI Colleges in Yerawada and Haveli, Pune

Pune’s Deputy Chief Minister, Ajit Pawar, has directed officials to expedite the establishment of Industrial Training Institute (ITI) units in Yerwada and Haveli within the Pune district. In addition to his call for swift progress, he emphasized the need for customized programs tailored to the requirements of local industries. These initiatives aim to foster enhanced employment opportunities within the district’s industries.

The directive came during a meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar at the Ministry of Skill Development. Attending this crucial meeting were Skill Development, Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation Minister Mangalprabhat Lodha, Member of Legislative Assembly Sunil Tingare, Dr. Nitin Kareer, Additional Chief Secretary of the Finance Department, Ashish Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Secretary of the Skill Development, Employment, and Entrepreneurship Department, Ashish Sharma, Principal Secretary of the Chief Minister’s Office, Saurabh Vijay, Principal Secretary of the Planning Department, Sanjay Dashpute, Secretary of the Public Works Department, and Digamber Dalvi, Director of Business Education and Training.

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar disclosed that a 5-acre parcel of land in Lohegaon has already been allocated for the establishment of an industrial training institute in Yerwada. He urged officials to formulate a comprehensive plan for the construction of the administrative building and workshop at this site. Recognizing the institute’s potential to transform the lives of ordinary citizens, he instructed the district collector to inform the district planning authorities about the allocation within the annual plan.

The industrial training institutes in Pune are envisioned to provide contemporary courses centered on technology and aligned with local industry demands. These courses will encompass areas like robotics, CNC machine handling, mechanics, and more, all in line with Industry 4.0 principles. This strategic initiative seeks to generate substantial employment opportunities within the region’s thriving industrial landscape. Simultaneously, the process of filling the sanctioned positions for these industrial training institutes is set to commence without delay. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar urged the relevant authorities to take swift action in this regard.
