Ajit Pawar Advocates World-Class Amenities at Pune’s New Airport Terminal

Pune, Maharashtra – Ajit Pawar, the Deputy Chief Minister and Guardian Minister of Pune district, has called for the implementation of world-class facilities at the upcoming terminal of Pune Airport. The directive comes in response to the escalating number of air travelers, reflecting the region’s expanding connectivity.

During his visit to the new terminal at Pune Airport, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar conducted a thorough inspection of the facilities. The inspection was attended by notable figures such as MLA Sunil Tingre, Divisional Commissioner Chandrakant Pulkundwar, Pune Municipal Corporation Commissioner Vikram Kumar, Collector Suhas Diwase, Airport Authority of India General Manager PK Datta, and Pune Airport Director Santosh Dhoke, alongside senior officers from relevant departments.

Ajit Pawar expressed that the new airport terminal is set to enhance Pune’s prestige. Given the considerable influx of travelers from across the country, he anticipates that the facility will contribute to increased passenger and flight numbers, ensuring a more comfortable and convenient journey. The state-of-the-art terminal is poised to augment air travel capacity and significantly ease domestic and international flights to and from Pune.

In addition to addressing the influx of passengers, the new terminal is expected to provide enhanced business facilities. Ajit Pawar recommended the incorporation of aesthetically pleasing indoor plants within the airport area, multilingual displays featuring information about significant heritage sites in Maharashtra and Pune, and a strong emphasis on cleanliness. His inspection covered various aspects, including the aerobridge, aircraft and private aircraft parking, check-in counters, VIP lounges, and baggage handling facilities.

Pune Airport Director Santosh Dhoke briefed Ajit Pawar on the existing passenger facilities such as the arrival-departure system, vehicle parking, baggage handling system, lounges, as well as the upcoming developments and renovations planned for the current airport terminal.
