On the evening of October 24, 2023, Pimple Saudagar witnessed a spectacular Ravan Dahan program to celebrate the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami. This grand event, held at 6 p.m., was organized under the guidance of the Corporator Shatrughan Kate Youth Foundation and Shri Jaynath Kate. Notably, this year’s Vijayadashami celebration proved to be a major attraction, not only for Pimple Saudagar but for the entire city.
A captivating highlight of the event was the ritualistic burning of a towering 120-foot tall statue of Ravana, accompanied by fervent chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram’. The crowd was treated to a mesmerizing portrayal of Hanuman by Sunil Anil Tilakdhari, who hails from Hisar (Haryana). The event also featured the presence of renowned actresses Hrita Durgule from the popular TV show “Time Pass-3” and Akshaya Deodhar from “Tujhe Jeev Rangla,” alongside publicity director and actor Pravin Tarde, who engaged with the audience in their unique style.
In the program, the children from the Mohanji Centre Pune in Pimple Saudagar won the hearts of the audience with their splendid 20-minute enactment of the Ramayana epic. Additionally, the skilled members of Kunal More’s Dance Floor Studio added to the festivity by captivating and energizing the enthusiastic crowd. A member of Sunil Anil Tilakdhari’s group graced the event with a tandav dance performance, symbolizing the ten heads of Ravana as representative of ten negative tendencies.
The distinguished attendees at the event included Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Singh, MLA Ashwinitai Jagtap, RSS state executive member Prakashrao Mithabhakare, Kunal Sathe of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, former MLA Vilas Lande, Prabhakar Waghere, Chandrakant Nakhate, Moreshwar Shedge, Harshal Dhore, Tushar Kamthe, Mr. Santosh Barne, Mr. Prashant Shitole, Youth Leader Vishwajit Barne, Sandeep Jadhav, Savita Khule, Aarti Chondhe, Nirmala Kute, Social Activist Kunda Bhise, and various esteemed individuals from cultural, educational, and spiritual sectors, as well as the residents of Pimple Saudagar and the city at large.
The Shatrughan Kate Youth Foundation expressed their heartfelt gratitude to all the dignitaries, citizens, the police administration, traffic department administration, fire brigade, and municipal officials for their invaluable contributions to the successful execution of the most significant Ravan Dahan event in Pimpri Chinchwad and Pune City.
