81 Years of Excellence: Intelligence Corps Celebrates Raising Day with Veer Naris

Pune, November 1, 2023: The Military Intelligence Training School and Depot, Wanowrie, came alive with patriotic fervor as the Intelligence Corps of the Indian Army marked its 81st Raising Day with grandeur and a heartfelt tribute to the Veer Naris (brave widows) of the Intelligence Corps. With a total of 40 martyrs who made the ultimate sacrifice, the Next of Kin of 19 fallen heroes graced the occasion, symbolizing the unwavering sacrifice and resilience of these remarkable families.

The commemorative day was filled with various events, including a solemn wreath-laying ceremony to honor the “Fallen Heroes” and a Barakhana gathering for all ranks and their families. However, it was the special felicitation of the Veer Naris during the Barakhana that captured the spirit of the day, recognizing their enduring courage and invaluable contributions.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from a significant number of veterans, serving soldiers, and their families affiliated with the Intelligence Corps, representing a diverse and unified presence from across the country.

During a heartfelt address, Lt Gen PK Chahal, AVSM, Colonel Commandant Intelligence Corps, extended his warm congratulations to all ranks and urged everyone to uphold the highest standards of excellence and professionalism. He emphasized the core values of unwavering dedication and selflessness, encouraging all to contribute to the rich legacy of the Intelligence Corps.

Adding to the festivities, Chief of Army Staff Gen Manoj Pande, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, ADC, along with several other senior officers, conveyed their greetings and best wishes to the Corps on this significant occasion. Their presence recognized the invaluable contributions and unwavering commitment of the Corps to national security.
