PUNE, 18th June 2024: Pune gears up for an exhilarating display of talent as over twenty-four schools prepare to compete in the upcoming 3rd SNBP Inter-School District Sports Championship 2023-24. Hosted at the SNBP International School, Rahatani, the championship promises a month-long extravaganza of sportsmanship and skill, commencing on Saturday, 22nd June 2024.
Diverse Sporting Events
The championship will feature competitions across eleven sports categories, catering to both team and individual events for boys and girls. Among the team sports are hockey, football, handball, volleyball, and cricket (tennis ball), spanning the Under-10, 12, and 14 age groups. Meanwhile, individual sports enthusiasts can participate in yoga, chess, skating, karate, kickboxing, and the indigenous sport langdi, across the Under-8, 10, and 12 age categories.
Venue and Schedule
All events are scheduled to take place at the expansive SNBP school grounds located in Rahatani and Chikali, ensuring convenient access and ample space for participants to showcase their talents. The championship will culminate on 22nd July, marking the end of a spirited month of competitive sports.
Inaugural Festivities
An eagerly awaited highlight of the championship is the grand opening ceremony, themed ‘by the kids for the kids’, scheduled for the opening day. This ceremony aims to set the tone for the tournament, emphasizing camaraderie, sportsmanship, and the joy of youthful participation.

President Dr. Vrishali Bhosale articulated the championship’s mission, emphasizing its role in providing a robust platform for children to engage, excel, and pursue their sporting interests. The tournament stands as SNBP’s premier multi-sport event, held in honor of the late mother of Chairman Dr. Dashrath Bhosale.

Distinguished personalities including Director Dr. Adv. Rutuja Bhosale, Director Deviani Bhosale Jayshri Venkatraman, and Principals Priyanka Agrahari and Paramjeet Arrors from the Morwadi Branch, along with Director of Physical Education Firoz Shaikh, will grace the opening ceremony, underscoring their support for youth sports development.
