Pune – In response to the ongoing water shortage, the Water Supply Department of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has issued a public appeal, urging citizens to use water efficiently and responsibly.
The appeal emphasizes the impracticality of providing water supply to every floor of residential societies. Instead, the PCMC encourages residents to collectively store water in common water tanks within their societies. This stored water can then be efficiently distributed to individual homes through internal pipes, enabling residents to store it in their home tanks for subsequent use.
For societies lacking a system of storage tanks, the PCMC advises the construction of such tanks to facilitate seamless water supply. The responsibility for ensuring water supply to every floor of a society is placed on the citizens and their respective societies, recognizing the collective effort required to address the current water shortage.
The PCMC underscores the importance of a shared commitment to water conservation and responsible usage to mitigate the challenges posed by the limited availability of water resources. This proactive approach aligns with the broader goal of ensuring sustainable water management practices in the region.
