Real estate agents serve as the vital link between clients and developers, facilitating crucial transactions. The Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) has taken a pioneering step by mandating certification for agents through comprehensive training and stringent examinations. This requirement aims to ensure that clients receive accurate guidance in accordance with regulatory provisions.

Notably, a trio of accomplished women from Mumbai secured the first position jointly with an exceptional score of 96%, adding to the diversity of successful candidates.

Among the successful candidates, 118 individuals are above the age of 60, including seven women, showcasing the inclusive representation of adept agents.

The examination saw participation from diverse regions such as Mumbai, Pune, Pandharpur, Latur, Jalgaon, Dhule, Amravati, Akola, Ahmednagar, Aurangabad, Kolhapur, Nagpur, Nashik, Sangli, Satara, and Solapur, all taking part in the assessment held on August 6.

Through a directive dated January 10, 2023, Maharera mandated training and certification for new agent registrations as well as renewals. Recognizing the pivotal role that agents play as intermediaries between homebuyers and developers, Maharera underlines the significance of consistent and transparent provision of vital information regarding regulatory aspects such as Agreements for Sale, Allotment Letters, built-up area calculations, and defect liability periods.

This emphasis on information transparency and adherence to regulatory standards underscores the commitment of Maharera to safeguarding the interests of homebuyers, underscoring its role in promoting informed decision-making among property purchasers.
