Three Pune Police Officers Among 39 from Maharashtra Honored with President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service

Pune, August 14, 2023: The Ministry of Home Affairs revealed the names of police officers who have been selected to receive police medals this year in celebration of Independence Day 2023. Notably, three officers from Pune have been recognized and awarded the Police Medal for their exceptional and meritorious service.

Vyankatesh Sidram Palakurti, a dedicated Police Sub Inspector (PSI) of Pune, Pradip Namdev Rangade, a diligent Police Inspector, and Mohan Bhanudas Dongare, an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) from the ATS’s Pune unit, have all been honored for their commendable contributions to maintaining law and order.

In total, 954 individuals were announced as recipients of various police medals. This included the President’s Police Medal for Gallantry (PPMG), which was awarded to 01 CRPF personnel, 229 individuals who received the Police Medal for Gallantry (PMG), 82 awardees of the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service (PPM), and 642 personnel who were honored with the Police Medal for Meritorious Service (PM). This recognition serves as a testament to the dedication and hard work of these individuals in ensuring public safety and security.
