Quick Response Averts Tragedy: Fire Breaks Out at Dapodi Metro Station in Pune, No Casualties Reported

Pune: A fire broke out at Dapodi Metro Station on 16th February at 11:09 am, triggering a swift response from the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Fire Department. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries have been reported in connection with the incident.

Upon reaching the site, personnel from the PCMC Fire Station identified the source of the fire as the heating of the cooling coil of the high-tension panel (DP) at Dapodi Metro Station. The situation was promptly assessed, and firefighting efforts were initiated to contain and extinguish the blaze.

Wearing artificial breathing apparatus, the PCMC Fire officers skillfully used ABC and CO2 extinguishers to control the fire. Heavy smoke hindered their work, but their efficiency prevailed, and no individuals were harmed during the incident.

The PCMC Fire Department confirmed that the fire was completely extinguished within an hour, around 12 pm, highlighting the effective response and coordination of the firefighting teams.

The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of diligent safety measures and the critical role played by emergency response teams in averting potential disasters.
