Pimpri-Chinchwad: In a significant breakthrough, the Bhosari Police have apprehended a suspect involved in a series of vehicle thefts and burglaries at a wine shop in the Pimpri Chinchwad area. The arrested individual, identified as Virendra Kumar Mistrilal, a 23-year-old native of Uttar Pradesh, was taken into custody on December 26 following a thorough investigation.
The police action comes in response to a surge in vehicle thefts in the Bhosari area. To address this rising issue, a specialised team was formed at the Bhosari police station, comprising dedicated officers and personnel. The team meticulously examined the locations of the thefts, scrutinised CCTV footage, and conducted technical analysis of mobile phones in the vicinity.
The investigation revealed that the accused, Virendra Kumar Mistrilal, was responsible for multiple incidents of bike theft within the Bhosari and Chinchwad police station limits. The accused, during interrogation, confessed to stealing bikes and also disclosed his involvement in two thefts at Umesh Wine Shop in Bhosari, where he had previously been employed.
As a result of the operation, the police seized a total of five two-wheelers and recovered valuables amounting to Rs 3 lakh and 18 thousand from him. The arrested individual is now facing charges related to five cases of vehicle theft and two cases of house burglary.
This successful operation was carried out by the police force under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Vinay Kumar Choubey, Joint Commissioner of Police Sanjay Shinde, Additional Commissioner of Police Vasant Pardeshi, Deputy Commissioner of Police Zone 1 Vivek Patil, Assistant Commissioner of Police Vitthal Kubde, Senior Police Inspector Shivaji Gaware, and other key members of the law enforcement team.
