Pimpri Chinchwad Police Cancels 194 Driving Licenses for Persistent Traffic Violations

Pune: In a resolute move aimed at instilling a greater sense of responsibility and compliance with traffic regulations, the police in Pimpri-Chinchwad have cancelled 194 driving licenses of individuals who have been recurrently flouting traffic rules. This action underscores the local police’s unwavering commitment to promoting road safety and ensuring that drivers adhere to traffic norms.

The city of Pimpri-Chinchwad has witnessed a marked improvement in road safety and the rigorous enforcement of traffic regulations. Senior Police Inspector Dada Hole emphasized that from the beginning of the year until August 18, the police have submitted a comprehensive proposal to the Regional Transport Office (RTO) advocating the revocation of licenses for 596 habitual traffic rule violators. Out of this group, 194 licenses have already been cancelled, with further steps in the process. The remaining licenses are also slated for revocation, signaling the authorities’ uncompromising stance on promoting responsible driving behavior.

Hole urged the community to prioritize road safety by wearing helmets and refraining from using mobile devices while driving. He made it clear that licenses will be rigorously revoked for individuals found driving in triple seat configurations or driving under the influence of intoxicants.

Officials well-acquainted with the situation elaborated that the driving licenses of the 194 individuals were revoked due to repeated instances of traffic rule violations. The police deemed the accumulation of these violations as sufficient grounds for taking this stringent action. The objective behind this decision is to convey a powerful message to the community about the paramount importance of road safety and the necessity to strictly adhere to traffic regulations.
