PCMC Unveils Ambitious Rs 8,676 Crore Budget for 2024-25 Fiscal Year

In a special meeting, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) unveiled a budget of Rs 8,676.80 crores for the fiscal year 2024–25. The Chief Accounts and Finance Officer, Pravin Jain, shared that this comprehensive budget includes sponsored programs from the federal and state governments, without any adjustments to taxes or fares due to the upcoming Lok Sabha, Vidhan Sabha, and municipal elections.

The budget presentation took place in the presence of PCMC Commissioner & Administrator Shekhar Singh and was swiftly approved, marking PCMC’s 42nd fiscal plan. Commissioner Singh, overseeing his second budget, was joined by Ulhas Jagtap, Vijaykumar Khorate, and Additional Commissioner Pradeep Jambhale at the function.

Key highlights of the budget include:

  • Rs 190 crores allocated for running eight zonal offices.
  • Rs 1,863 crores for various development projects.
  • Rs 1,898 crores for programs uplifting the urban poor.
  • Rs 1,031 crores 79 lakhs for executing special construction schemes.
  • Rs 65 crores 21 lakhs for programs serving the disabled.
  • Rs 61 crores 58 lakhs for women-benefiting programs.
  • Rs 269 crores 89 lakhs for Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML).
  • Rs 269 crores 89 lakhs for water supply projects.
  • Rs 50 crores allocated for the Smart City project.
  • Rs 100 crores earmarked for land acquisition.

The budget reflects a comprehensive approach towards development, welfare, and strategic allocations for key projects in the Pimpri Chinchwad region.
