MLA Mahesh Landge Pushes for Swift Progress on Sanvidhan Bhavan

Mahesh Landge, the BJP MLA representing Bhosari Assembly constituency in Pimpri-Chinchwad, has recently urged for urgent action on the ambitious Sanvidhan Bhavan (Constitution Building) project. In his appeal, he has proposed that if the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) encounters delays in advancing the construction despite repeated follow-ups, the project should be transferred to the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC).

MLA’s Concerns and Appeal

Expressing his concerns publicly, Mahesh Landge took to social media to highlight the necessity for expediting the Sanvidhan Bhavan project. His appeal was directed towards key political figures including Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, urging them to intervene and facilitate swift progress.

Project Overview and Objectives

The Sanvidhan Bhavan project is envisioned as a significant center dedicated to the study of the Indian Constitution and other democratic frameworks globally. It aims to promote constitutional literacy and awareness among citizens. The collaborative effort between the PCMC and PMRDA underscores its importance as a symbol of democratic values and educational opportunity.

Urgency and Proposed Solution

“Common citizens should have access to study the constitutions of various nations, including India’s, which supports the world’s largest democratic system,” Landge emphasized. He stressed the need for accelerated efforts, particularly noting perceived delays during previous administrative tenures.

Given the urgency surrounding the project, Landge has proposed that if the PMRDA cannot fulfill its responsibilities in completing Maharashtra’s inaugural Constitution Building, the project should be handed over to the PCMC. This suggestion is viewed as a pragmatic approach to ensure the project’s timely realization, especially in anticipation of the upcoming monsoon session.
