Deputy Chief Minister’s Visit: The Puzzle of Low Attendance in Pimpri-Chinchwad

Ajit Pawar

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, recently appointed as the Guardian Minister for Pune, made his first official visit to Pimpri-Chinchwad city. During this visit, he presided over the prize distribution for the Ganeshotsav decoration and Gauri decoration competition organized by the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). However, the event saw a surprising development as the Ga.Di.Madgulkar Sabhagruha, with a seating capacity of 800, was only half full, sparking questions and curiosity.

The event saw the presence of notable figures, including MLA Anna Bansode, City President Ajit Gavane, Women City President Kavita Alhat, Ex-MLA Vilas Lande, Ex-City President Sanjog Waghere, Ex-Deputy Mayor Raju Misal, Corporater Nana Kate, alongside activists and officials. The purpose of the event was to honor the winners of the Ganeshotsav and Gauri decoration competitions, which witnessed active participation from numerous mandals sponsored by the NCP.

Despite Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s timely arrival and active participation, the sight of an auditorium only half-filled has led to questions and speculations. Pimpri-Chinchwad is widely recognized as Ajit Pawar’s political stronghold, adding an extra layer of intrigue to this scenario. The notable police presence at the event underscored its significance and importance.
