Cracking Down on Traffic Offenders: Pimpri Chinchwad Reclaims Road Safety with 194 License Revocations

Pimpri, August 20, 2023: In a bold move to enhance road safety and reinforce strict adherence to traffic regulations, Pimpri Chinchwad has taken decisive action by revoking 194 driving licenses. This action targets individuals who have consistently violated traffic rules, accruing a significant number of violation points.

The local police force in Pimpri-Chinchwad has been actively implementing measures to promote responsible driving and the observance of traffic norms within the city.

A Police Inspector emphasized the commitment of the police force, stating, “From the beginning of this year until August 18, we submitted a proposal to the Regional Transport Office (RTO) for the revocation of licenses belonging to 596 habitual traffic offenders. Out of this group, 194 licenses have already been cancelled, and further procedural steps are underway.”

Authorities familiar with the situation revealed that the 194 individuals who faced license revocation had collectively accumulated a significant number of traffic violation points. These points were assigned based on the severity and nature of the offenses committed. The decision to cancel these licenses was rooted in the substantial accumulation of these points, serving as a powerful message to the community about the paramount importance of road safety and meticulous adherence to traffic rules.
