BJP MLA Mahesh Landge Advocates for Independent Post Headquarters for Pimpri-Chinchwad

Pimpri-Chinchwad : In a significant move aimed at bolstering administrative efficiency and addressing the evolving needs of Pimpri-Chinchwad, BJP MLA Mahesh Landge, also the Shirur Lok Sabha Election Chief, has called for the establishment of a dedicated post headquarters for the burgeoning region. Landge’s proposal mirrors the successful model of an independent Police Commissionerate introduced in 2018.

Highlighting the current integration of Pimpri-Chinchwad under the Pune Divisional Post Office, Landge emphasized the challenges posed by the existing administrative setup, struggling to manage the postal operations for a population nearing two crores. He stressed the urgency of aligning administrative structures with the Maharashtra government’s district bifurcation policy, especially given Pimpri-Chinchwad’s rapid urbanization and its emerging ‘metro city’ status.

In a letter dated June 24, 2021, addressed to all Divisional Post Offices, Landge advocated for the division of the Pune divisional post headquarters and the establishment of an autonomous post headquarters for Pimpri-Chinchwad and its rural areas. The BJP MLA has expressed his intent to personally meet Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav in New Delhi, seeking approvals and further emphasizing the region’s unique administrative requirements.

This initiative spearheaded by Mahesh Landge underscores a proactive approach to meet the dynamic needs of Pimpri-Chinchwad’s growing population. The proposed independent post headquarters aims to streamline postal services, enhance administrative capabilities, and contribute to the overall development of the region.
