MSRDC Announces Disruption in Traffic Flow on April 3 and 4, 2024, Between 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM
Commuters traveling on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway are advised to brace for a temporary traffic block on both April 3 and April 4, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has announced the installation of a gantry at the 93/900 kilometre mark on the expressway, necessitating the temporary disruption.
The installation of the gantry, facilitated by the Highway Traffic Management System on both the Pune and Mumbai lanes, aims to enhance the efficiency of traffic management and monitoring along the expressway.
To ensure the smooth execution of the installation process, traffic flow in both directions, including light and heavy vehicles, will be temporarily halted on the expressway during the specified timeframe. Commuters are strongly advised to seek alternative routes and plan their journeys accordingly to avoid inconvenience.
For motorists traveling from Pune to Mumbai in light vehicles, the recommended diversion will be through the Mumbai canal and National Highway no. 48, following the traditional Old Pune-Mumbai route. All types of vehicles will be diverted through Kiwale bridge via the Old Pune Mumbai Highway.
Similarly, vehicles traveling from Mumbai to Pune will be diverted to Kusgaon toll naka at 55.000 kilometers (Lonavala exit) onto the Old Pune Mumbai Highway towards Pune.
These diversions have been strategically implemented to prioritize the safety and efficiency of the gantry installation process. Commuters are urged to adhere to traffic advisories and cooperate with authorities to minimize disruptions during this period.
