Mumbai, Aug 3 (UNI) Maharashtra State Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and NCP national president Sharad Pawar on Thursday condoled the death of ‘Raankavi’ of Marathi soil, N D Mahanor, who passed away in Pune this morning.
In his message, Shinde mentioned Mahanor’s demise was a huge loss to Marathi literature.
Shinde stated that the sensitive poet N D Mahanor, who used to enjoy the soil and revealed many aspects of nature through his words, has been lost.
Mahanor presented the beauty of nature, the forest, leaves, and flowers in various forms to the lovers.He was an experimental farmer. He shed light on many aspects of rural life in his writings while presenting the happiness of farmers.His journey continued from the farm to the literary forum to the Legislative Council.In all these places, Mahanor has left an indelible impression on his sensitive poet’s mind. Marathi literature has suffered a great loss due to his death. He will surely be missed. Senior Literary, Poet, Former MLC, said Shinde.In a tweet, Pawar stated: “I am deeply saddened by my close friend and ‘Rankavi of Maharashtra’ N D Mahanor’s demise”.
He was very sensitive, and was further depressed by the death of his wife, said Pawar.
