The Central Railways Mumbai Division has announced the cancellation of several Mumbai-Pune trains from May 28 to June 2. This move is necessary to facilitate scheduled special blocks for pre Non-Interlocking (NI) work, which involves extending platforms 10 and 11 at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) to accommodate 24-coach trains.

The extension of platforms at CSMT aims to accommodate longer trains, thereby increasing the overall capacity and efficiency of train operations at this busy terminal. This infrastructure upgrade is expected to significantly enhance passenger experience and streamline train services.

Statement from Central Railway

The Central Railway has issued a statement requesting passengers to cooperate and understand the necessity of these temporary cancellations. “Passengers are requested to bear with the Railway administration for the inconvenience caused,” the statement read.
