Maha Govt to encourage bamboo cultivation, tourism for development of Satara: Eknath Sinde

Satara, Aug 12 (UNI) The Maharashtra government has decided to focus on two aspects of bamboo cultivation and tourism in next six months in order to make the common man self-reliant for development of the district, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said on Saturday.

Addressing the locals after launch of bamboo cultivation at Aklapey village, about 20 km from his native Dare village, he said that industry will be started in Kandati valley to make furniture from bamboo.

Similarly, the growth of tourism will also be promoted in the district, he asserted.

In this regard, a detailed plan will be prepared, and new activities will be undertaken in line with the principle of eco-friendly development pattern in Satara, the Chief Minister added.
