“Innovative Initiatives Unveiled by CM Eknath Shinde: Mobile App and WhatsApp Helpline for Medical Assistance Fund

12 thousand 500 patients benefited in one year under the scheme

Mumbai, August 15 :- Chief Minister Mr Eknath Shinde today inaugurated the mobile app and WhatsApp helpline for the beneficiary patients of Chief Minister Medical Assistance Fund. A Celebration Anand Melawa of the patients who have been successfully treated from different chronic and life threatening diseases and their relatives was also organized at the Sahyadri guest house during the occasion. The patients and their relatives can contact on helpline number 8650567567 for assistance.

Deputy Chairperson of State Legislative Council Dr Neelam Gorhe, Skill development Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha, principal secretary of Chief Minister Vikas Kharge, Secretary of State Legislature Jitendra Bhole, Chitra Wagh, chief of the Chief Minister assistant cell Mangesh Chiwate and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

In the last one year and a month, 12 thousand 500 patients have been benefited through the Chief Minister Assistance Fund Cell. More than 100 crores of financial assistance was disbursed to these patients, the Chief Minister informed.
The fifth edition of Medical Assistance guide and a book named Rokh Thok based on the thoughts of Balasaheb Thackeray were released on the occasion during this get together celebration. The beneficiaries of the Chief Minister medical assistance fund said that it was because of the Chief Minister Mr Eknath Shinde that they got a new life. Documentary taking stock of the functioning of the Chief Minister Assistance cell in the last one year was also screened during the program.

No counting while extending help says chief minister

Chief Minister Mr Shinde speaking further said that the government has taken the decision to provide free tests and treatment at all the government hospitals to each and every citizen of the state. He said that this scheme has been implemented from today, 15th August. He further said that while extending the financial assistance through the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund we did not even understand when we crossed the figure of 100 crore rupees while disbursing funds for the benefit of the needy. He said, “Whenever I extend my hand for help, I do not believe in counting or measuring because assistance fund is my favorite subject and though there are many occasions when criteria are not met, when it comes to medical assistance, I try to find some way out to extend the assistance.”

He said that after his government took the reins of the state, right from the first meeting care was taken that farmers, laborers, peasants, workers, women, students, or any constituent of the society is not deprived from the government schemes. He said that the government and the administration are concentrating on this, with priority.

Mr Shinde further said that the limit of insurance cover under the Mahatma Phule Jeevandaai Arogya Yojana has been extended to 5 lakh from 1.5 lakh. He said that the government has taken the historical decision to implement this scheme for each and every citizen of the state. He also said that his government has taken efforts to take ahead all the stalled projects and they are in progress. Many of them are completed or near completion,he said.
