An Epic Ride: Anand Mahindra’s Mumbai Coastal Road Journey Unveils Undersea Marvel

Anand Mahindra, the Chairman of Mahindra Group, recently embarked on a fascinating journey through Mumbai’s newly inaugurated coastal road, showcasing his drive through the impressive undersea tunnel.

The Maharashtra Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde, unveiled the first phase of the coastal road, christened the ‘Dharmaveer Sambhaji Maharaj Coastal Road’ in honor of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. This monumental project aims to significantly reduce travel time between Nariman Point in South Mumbai and Kandivali in the suburbs, cutting down the commute from over 2 hours to less than 40 minutes.

One of the most striking features of the Mumbai Coastal Road is the undersea tunnel, which has garnered widespread attention. The completion of the second phase is anticipated by May 2024, with a total project cost estimated at ₹12,721 crore.

Anand Mahindra, in awe of the construction marvel, expressed his admiration, deeming it worth the anticipation. He commended Larsen & Toubro for their exemplary efforts in executing this ambitious project.
