Delhi Metro’s Golden Transformation: Tughlakabad to Delhi Aerocity Corridor Unveils a New Hue

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced a notable alteration in the color code of the Tughlakabad to Delhi Aerocity corridor, a crucial segment of the Metro Phase-4 project. Formerly identified as the Silver Line, this corridor will now shine with a golden hue, addressing visibility concerns and enhancing its distinct identity.

Color Code Transition: From Silver to Golden

The decision to shift from Silver to Golden comes in response to visibility issues faced by the metro coaches, which themselves have a silver tint. The Golden Line, spanning a length of 23.62 kilometers, will boast a total of 15 stations, promising improved connectivity across the region. With a projected completion date in 2025, the corridor’s construction is progressing swiftly.

Other Corridors in Phase-4

Apart from the Golden Line, two additional corridors are currently under construction in Phase-4. These include the extension of the Magenta Line from Janakpuri West to RK Ashram and the extension of the Pink Line from Majlis Park to Maujpur. Each Delhi Metro corridor is distinguished by a unique color, contributing to the city’s iconic and easily navigable transportation system.

The introduction of the Golden Line is a monumental step toward enhancing Delhi’s public transportation network. Beyond practical considerations like improved visibility, this change adds a distinctive character to the rapidly expanding metro system.

As Delhi eagerly anticipates the completion of the Golden Line and the other ongoing corridors, the city looks forward to the promise of enhanced connectivity and convenience for its residents.
