Delhi Metro Unveils Ambitious Expansion Plan with Three New Corridors Covering 66 KM

In a major development for Delhi’s public transportation, the approval for three new corridors under Delhi Metro Phase 4 has been granted, paving the way for enhanced connectivity across the city. These corridors, slated to be completed by 2025, aim to provide significant convenience to Delhi residents with a combined length of 66 kilometers and 45 metro stations.

Details of the New Corridors: Transformative Connectivity in the Making

  1. Janakpuri West to Ramakrishna Ashram: A corridor spanning 29.262 kilometers, featuring 22 metro stations.
  2. Delhi Aerocity to Tughlakabad Station: Stretching over 23.622 kilometers, encompassing 15 metro stations.
  3. Majlis Park to Maujpur: A corridor covering 12.318 kilometers, incorporating 8 stations.

Government Commitment and Timeline

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal emphasized the significance of these developments, stating, “Approval for three new corridors under Delhi Metro Phase 4 has been granted. These three corridors will be completed by 2025, offering significant convenience in commutation for Delhi residents.” The Delhi government is dedicated to facilitating the smooth transfer of required land for metro projects without any hindrances, ensuring a timely handover to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC).

Total Six Corridors Under Delhi Metro Phase 4

With the approval of these three corridors, the total number of corridors under Delhi Metro Phase 4 stands at six. The Delhi government, in collaboration with the Government of India and DMRC, is expected to secure approval for the remaining three corridors in the near future.
