Delhi Braces for Heavy Hailstorm: IMD Warns of Rain and Fast Winds on February 19-20

As Delhi-NCR faces a sudden change in weather patterns, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy winds and rainfall in the region on February 19th and 20th. The upcoming hailstorm is expected to bring not only rain but also fast winds, prompting citizens to prepare for adverse weather conditions.

IMD Alert and Weather Outlook:

The IMD has alerted Delhi residents about the likelihood of heavy hailstorms, rain, and fast winds during the nights of February 19th, 20th, and 21st. While Saturday (February 17th) is anticipated to have clear skies during the day, temperatures are expected to hover around 26 degrees Celsius.

With minimum temperatures recorded at 7.3 degrees Celsius on Friday, the sudden change in weather conditions is expected to bring a considerable drop in temperature, affecting daily routines.

Regional Impact and Precautions:

Over the next 24 hours, Jharkhand and northern Odisha are expected to witness rainfall in different areas, while Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, and Nagaland may experience thunderstorms, accompanied by lightning and rainfall. The weather department advises residents to take necessary precautions during these periods.

In the coming days, northeastern states are forecasted to face continuous rainfall, while Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand may encounter rain, snowfall, and thunderstorms with lightning. The sudden weather changes in these regions require residents to be vigilant and take appropriate safety measures.
