In a significant development, Delhi Airport has introduced the Eastern Cross Taxiway (ECT), a 2.1-kilometer-long facility that is set to transform the aviation landscape. Implementing the ECT for 10-15% of flights has the potential to save approximately 55,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually. The reduced taxi time and fuel consumption during approach and departure are estimated to lead to significant cost savings for airlines, ranging from ₹150 to ₹180 crores.
