Tonaquint Opens Renovated Data Center in Oklahoma City

Tonaquint Data Centers, a US co-location and data center provider, has successfully completed upgrades to its recently acquired data center in Oklahoma City. Tonaquint announced its acquisition of EdgeX Data Centers in December 2023, as reported by TelecomTalk. Following the acquisition, Tonaquint renovated and reopened the former EdgeX data center, and the company shared this development in a recent announcement.

Acquisition and Renovation

The newly renovated facility, located on Newcastle Road near Will Rogers World Airport, spans four acres and covers 65,000 square feet. Originally owned by Devon Energy, the facility was redesigned to transition from a single-client environment to a multi-client one. The upgrades include enhancements to withstand tornado-force winds of up to 310 mph. The facility now supports a minimum of 2.5 MW of critical IT load with the capability to expand up to 12 MW.

To mark the opening of the upgraded data center, Tonaquint hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a series of inaugural events, celebrating the new chapter for the facility.

Community Engagement

Tonaquint emphasized its commitment to providing top-tier data center solutions in emerging markets like Oklahoma City. “Our mission is to provide the absolute best data center solutions in emerging markets like Oklahoma City, and we’re proud to officially open this state-of-the-art facility,” the company stated. Tonaquint also highlighted the importance of being part of the local community, contributing to its vibrancy and economic growth.

“This state-of-the-art data facility is one of this region’s most future-forward and resilient data centers,” Tonaquint added, underscoring the advanced infrastructure and resilience features of the renovated facility.

Meeting Modern Demands

The renovated data center is strategically designed to meet the demands of AI workloads and other modern technological requirements. This positioning makes it a critical infrastructure provider in Oklahoma, ready to support the growing digital and AI-driven needs of businesses in the region.

Tonaquint’s investment in the Oklahoma City data center not only strengthens its portfolio but also boosts the local economy by providing robust digital infrastructure. With the renovations complete, the facility is now better equipped to serve multiple clients and support high-demand technological workloads, ensuring it remains a pivotal asset in Tonaquint’s growing network.
