In a bid to propel Tamil Nadu towards becoming a $1 trillion economy by 2030, Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal underscored the need for an ambitious annual growth rate of 18 per cent. Addressing the Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet 2024, Goyal emphasized the alignment of this goal with India’s broader vision for comprehensive nationwide growth.

Strategic Focus on Regional Development:

Goyal reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, emphasizing that the nation’s progress hinges on the collective advancement of its regions. This approach, he noted, would catalyze industrialization, job creation, and opportunities for the nation’s burgeoning youth.

Collaborative Initiatives for Sustainable Growth:

Highlighting collaborative efforts between the central government and Tamil Nadu, Goyal outlined joint initiatives aimed at rapid industrialization, efficient welfare delivery, and sustainable growth in the state. Recent national projects inaugurated by the Prime Minister, exceeding Rs 20,000 crore in value, span various sectors, including rail, road, oil, gas, and shipping.

Support Amidst Adversity:

Expressing condolences for the recent heavy rains that caused loss of life and property in Tamil Nadu, the Union Commerce Minister assured the state of unwavering support from the central government. This reaffirms the critical role of unified efforts and regional cooperation in India’s collective journey towards progress and development.
