Startup Secures ₹3.94 Crores Funding to Bring Advanced ICU Ventilator to Market

The landscape of India’s healthcare industry is evolving rapidly, with innovative startups leading the charge towards self-reliance and technologically advanced solutions. In a significant step towards bolstering indigenous medical technology, Noccarc Robotics Private Ltd has secured funding of ₹3.94 Crores from the Technology Development Board (TDB) to commercialize its state-of-the-art Digitally Enabled Advanced Universal ICU Ventilators.

Amidst the backdrop of the “Make in India” movement and the increasing emphasis on homegrown innovation, the government’s support for domestically developed medical devices is a strategic move to reduce dependence on imported products.

Noccarc Robotics, incubated at the Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, is a shining example of this indigenous innovation. The startup’s focus on developing technologically advanced and locally-produced medical devices aligns perfectly with the current national priorities.

The ventilator technology developed by Noccarc is a testimony to India’s engineering capabilities. The startup’s journey started with the V310 ventilator, which played a crucial role during the COVID-19 pandemic, saving lives in hospitals across the country. Building on this success, Noccarc is now launching the Noccarc V730i, a smart ventilator designed for seamless cloud connectivity through GSM, Wi-Fi, and LAN. This innovation allows medical professionals to remotely monitor patient data and digitize ICU workflows, a step forward in the direction of creating a self-reliant ecosystem.

The funding from TDB, amounting to ₹3.94 Crores, will provide the necessary impetus for Noccarc to further its innovation and make advanced ICU ventilators accessible across the country. The startup’s commitment to technological indigenization and the betterment of healthcare aligns perfectly with the vision of a self-reliant India.

Shri Nikhil Kurele and Shri Harshit Rathore, the promoters of Noccarc, expressed their gratitude for the support from TDB. They highlighted how this funding would accelerate Noccarc’s efforts in revolutionizing the healthcare sector in India and contribute to the larger “Atmanirbhar Bharat” (Self-Reliant India) initiative.

This collaboration between Noccarc Robotics and TDB exemplifies the power of innovation and indigenous technology in driving positive change. By focusing on creating high-quality medical devices within the country, Noccarc Robotics sets a precedent for other startups to follow, showcasing the immense potential of the Indian healthcare technology landscape on a global stage.
