CII Launches India’s First National NexGen Mobility Expo in Pune

Pune, August 22, 2023: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has taken a significant step towards shaping the future of smart and sustainable mobility in India by introducing the country’s inaugural National NexGen Mobility Expo. The launch event, a curtain raiser for the upcoming CII NexGen Mobility Show 2023, was held in Pune and showcased the industry’s commitment to advancing mobility solutions.

Scheduled to take place on December 15-16, 2023, at the Deccan College Ground in Pune, the CII NexGen Mobility Show 2023 is poised to be one of India’s largest NexGen mobility expos in the western region. The event aims to unite industry leaders, innovators, policymakers, and mobility enthusiasts to explore and shape the future of transportation in the nation.

In an era of rapid transformation in the automotive landscape, the two-day CII NexGen Mobility Exhibition 2023 will delve into various aspects of future mobility. These include electric vehicles, connected and autonomous technologies, battery advancements and charging infrastructure, alternative fuels, smart and sustainable infrastructure, and the concept of mobility-as-a-service.

Pune, known for its vibrancy in innovation and automotive industry, plays a pivotal role in India’s automotive sector due to its commitment to excellence and technological advancement.

The sprawling 4000 sqm exhibition area is expected to host over 100 exhibitors representing both domestic and international brands. The event anticipates the participation of around 3000+ focused business visitors from the industry, trade, and government sectors. The program will particularly spotlight the Automotive, Fuel of the Future, and Urban Mobility sectors. Attendees can expect to engage in Technology Forums, witness Futuristic and Concept Vehicles on display, experience Interactive Tech Demos, and witness Product Launches. The expo will provide ample opportunities for global networking.

Arvind Goel, Chairman of CII NexGen Mobility Show 2023 & CII WR Taskforce on Future Mobility, and Chairman of Tata AutoComp Systems Ltd, highlighted the significance of the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme in the Automotive and Auto Components sectors. He stated that this scheme will foster the domestic manufacturing of advanced automotive technology products and solutions, attracting investments in the automotive manufacturing value chain.

Dr. Sanjay G. Kolte, IAS, Chairman of CII Urban Mobility Show 2023 & CEO of Pune Smart City Development, emphasized Pune Smart City Development Corporation Ltd’s commitment to smart mobility. Initiatives like Smart e-buses and the Adaptive Traffic Management System have been undertaken to enhance sustainable and efficient transport.

Rajesh Khatri, Co-Chair of CII WR Taskforce on Future Mobility & President & CEO of Fiat India Automobiles Private Ltd, described the Indian automotive industry as entering an exciting phase characterized by disruptive trends. These trends include accelerated electrification, cleaner fuels, connected cars, autonomous vehicles, shared mobility, self-reliant digitally integrated supply chain, lightweighting, and the utilization of alternate materials.
