Yamaha MotorCorp India is gearing up to reinvigorate the sport bike and naked bike segments in the country with the imminent launch of Yamaha R3 and MT 03 in December this year. The company has reportedly communicated this exciting update to its dealers, outlining specific criteria for selected dealerships to showcase, sell, and service these high-performance bikes.

The Yamaha R3 and MT 03 are expected to hit the Indian market in mid-December, offering enthusiasts powerful options in the 321 cc segment. Priced between an estimated range of Rs 3.50 lakh to Rs 4 lakh, these bikes will compete with formidable counterparts like KTM RC 390 and BMW G310 RR.

Yamaha plans to facilitate bookings exclusively through its official website, with dispatches to dealers based on the location of bookings. While the list of participating dealerships is yet to be disclosed, it is anticipated to be revealed by the end of this month.

Design and Features: A Glimpse into Yamaha’s Evolution

The design of the Yamaha R3 maintains its distinctive and aggressive styling, characterized by enhanced airflow, a split headlamp, and an air intake system. Sporting features like a split-style seat, a muscular fuel tank, and a compact tail area, the R3 exudes a dynamic appeal.

In terms of features, the Yamaha R3 is equipped with a fully digital instrument cluster, LED lighting for both the headlamp and tail lamp, and modern functionalities like smartphone connectivity, Bluetooth compatibility, call alerts, SMS alerts, email notifications, and a smart assist navigation system.

Powerful Performance Upgrades

The 2023 Yamaha R3 boasts a more robust engine with a 321 cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine generating 40.4 bhp of maximum power and 29.4 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and features an assist clutch mechanism for smoother operation.

The hardware and suspension of the Yamaha R3 are managed by upside-down forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. Disc brakes at both ends ensure effective braking, with safety features like dual-channel ABS and traction control enhancing rider confidence.
