Royal Enfield’s Upcoming 750cc Bobber Motorcycle Set for 2025 Debut

Royal Enfield, the renowned midsize motorcycle manufacturer, is setting its sights on the 750cc segment and has initiated the development of a new platform codenamed R. This move comes after the success of their twin-cylinder Interceptor 650, which set new standards in the midsize motorcycle category. The company aims to introduce a range of 750cc bikes under this new platform by 2025.

The first offering from this platform will be a 750cc Bobber motorcycle, currently known as project R2G. Royal Enfield has gathered critical feedback from various markets, including India, North America, Europe, and the United Kingdom, to ensure that this bike meets the expectations of global consumers. The lead development for this project is taking place at the company’s tech center in Leicester, UK. This upcoming Bobber is expected to be one of the largest motorcycles in Royal Enfield’s lineup in decades and will occupy the top position among its product offerings.

The decision to venture into the 750cc segment comes at a time when other premium motorcycle manufacturers like Harley-Davidson and Triumph are also eyeing the midsize segment and preparing to challenge Royal Enfield on its home turf. Siddhartha Lal, the Managing Director of Eicher Motors, Royal Enfield’s parent company, has consistently emphasized that the company’s focus lies in the midsize motorcycle range, specifically between 350cc and 750cc. This move completes the powertrain portfolio of Royal Enfield, which currently spans from 350cc to 650cc engines.

While the 750cc bike is set to cater to international markets such as North America and Europe, it also aims to provide an upgrade option for owners of 350cc motorcycles in emerging markets. Additionally, it will offer an alternative to buyers in evolved markets who are seeking a capable yet more accessible premium motorcycle from the Royal Enfield brand. If the company decides to explore larger engine capacities beyond 750cc in the future, sources suggest that it is likely to consider electric vehicle (EV) variants to align with the industry’s shifting trends.

Insiders reveal that the 750cc engine is an evolution of Royal Enfield’s highly acclaimed twin-cylinder 650cc engine. This new mill is specifically designed to cater to the demands of the 750cc segment, positioning the bike competitively alongside other large-sized premium motorcycles. Royal Enfield envisions providing multiple product offerings across different engine capacities, including 350cc, 450cc, 650cc, and now 750cc. While the Bobber 750 is the first project on the list, the company is exploring several other ideas to diversify its lineup.

With Royal Enfield’s foray into the 750cc segment, motorcycle enthusiasts can anticipate the arrival of a powerful, stylish, and versatile bike that embodies the brand’s signature charm and character. As development progresses and further details emerge, enthusiasts will eagerly await the unveiling of this new addition to the Royal Enfield family.
